Weaving

I am also a weaver. But this hobby was started way back in 1974. I did a lot of weaving until about 1980, then my time was taken over by my children. I  just  began weaving again in 1998. Since then I joined and became the president of the Sudbury and District Weavers and Spinners Guild. But here are some of the tapestries and yardage that I wove in my younger years. The rest are more recent projects; such as rag rugs, cotton rugs, table runners, throws and screens. Click on the pictures to get a little larger view.

This was woven for the local theatre centre's fundraising auction. Click on the picture to get a closer view.

This is a close up of the tapestry I wove around the paddle -a fish being caught in a net with grass going up then sky and a rainbow. Click on the picture to get a closer view.

This tapestry was woven with our pet, Typhoon's fur that I spun and some natural fleece I spun for the background. The collage around the tapestry show's Typhoon's life with us. This memorial tapestry was woven for my son, who was devastated when he lost his best friend, Typhoon! Click on the picture to see it larger.

The two rugs to the left are sock rugs. The first one is woven from old work socks.
