Winterhaven:
Our cyber city

Winterhaven
is a beautiful cyber city which has been created by our fantastic mayor, Marusha.
She had hand-picked some wonderful people from all over this world who have a
common interest in fiber crafts, such as knitting, weaving, spinning, etc.
One of our very talented residents poetically wrote a description of our fair
city:
Our Mayor, Marusha, thoughtful she,
Sent out the call, so we could be
enclosed with words upon the screen
Where all put down what they did dream
SHE created Winterhaven
In the cold of winter, friends abound,
Magic Gold dust all around,
With warmth and caring we all share
The joys, the sorrows we've to bear.
We moved to Winterhaven
With fertile minds and humour too
We kindred spirits, though but few,
Have built such homes within our dreams
And woven pictures in the seams
Of wonderous Winterhaven
We come from many different places,
Many varying worldwide spaces,
So much the same in all our ways
Our crafts take up our busy days
In precious Winterhaven
There's Marusha,Bill,Rebecca, Glo
Sheila C, Ann and Joan
Sara. June, and Annette D,
Sandy, Marilyn and Emily
Friends in Winterhaven
There's Carole, Edna, Annette J,
Ann, Julie, Jane and Jai,
Liz, Jennifer, Chris, Lirane
Sheila W, that's all our names
We ALL play in Winterhaven
In Ideal homes we spin our yarns
Safe and secure with no alarms
Our gardens grow dreamlike flowers
Making softly filtered bowers
In tall-treed Winterhaven
On black-sand beaches we walk and play
Watching sunsets every day
Gentle waves with rose pink skies
A peaceful warmth before our eyes
A magical Winter-haven
Gold dust floating all around,
Resting in such precious mounds
Sent with love to those in need
Magical powers for all indeed
In Wonderful Winterhaven
Written by Joan
For me, these people have all become an important family of friends.
The
distances between us mean nothing. We are dispersed throughout the
world
from Australia to England, to the USA and through Canada,
yet
we are in each others homes every day. When the need arises,
gold
dust is all around to comfort and help pull us through a rough time.
We participate in a gift exchange every year which has given us that
warm
and
'real' feeling that our cyber city does exist outside of our computers.
We are not shy so have a look
at who we are.
